- Sometimes coping with life can become difficult because situations can lead us along a difficult pathway, sometimes into crisis. We may find it hard to understand our own behaviours, thoughts and emotions, as well as those of others. Coping may not be easy and it may be difficult to talk over issues with family and friends. I can help you find solutions that will help you deal with situations, which will empower you, leading to improvement in your emotional and psychological wellbeing. I combine a variety of talking and creative techniques to support people with a range of issues, face to face, online, via video or telephone therapy.
I was a senior practitioner within clinical NHS and voluntary mental health and addiction services prior to becoming a consultant at the national charity DrugScope. I combine my clinical background with intuitive sense, empathy and a deep perception of client need.
I work with people of all ages and I specialise in working with children from age 5+ and young people, aged 14-18 years. I am an HCPC registered Art Therapist (AS16514) and a Level 5 CPCAB Children's counsellor. I am enhanced DBS checked.
I am able to offer online support to people whose lives have been affected by COVID19.

Previous"I had suffered for years from depression and anxiety. I was drinking heavily and not coping very well at all after my divorce. Sue helped to put me at ease and she has been very supportive throughout. Through her expertise and understanding, she has helped me to get in touch with my feelings and listen to my needs. I really do feel better able to cope now and I realise what effect my drinking has on my children and myself."

“I had lost confidence in myself. With Sue’s techniques she helped me recognise my needs and how important they are. This enabled me to gain back my confidence. I felt very safe and secure in her presence. Talking therapy definitely helped me shift a lot of negative feelings and how important it is to accept emotions in oneself”

“The training on motivational interviewing gave us space to reflect on the exercises and share our interpretations of the techniques. It was good to have delegates from the multi-disciplinary team which allowed for more in-depth observations. I feel I have only just touched the surface of my ideals and values that I may need to change in order to implement the therapeutic techniques well.”
