Substance misuse counselling in Enfield

Dual diagnosis

Over the years I have worked with people from all walks of life and from many different backgrounds, ages and cultures. This has provided me with a deeper insight and understanding of how life events can profoundly affect a person’s sense of well-being. I have gained experience of working with people, both children and adults who experience a broad spectrum of psychological and mental health challenges. Whether it is anxiety and stress caused by job loss or relationship breakup, depression as a result of a bereavement, illness, loss or homelessness.  I have travelled widely and have gained an insight into different cultures and medical practices. I have an interest in traditional healing including use of acupuncture, mindfulness, herbalism and homeopathy.

I am a London-based HCPC registered Art Therapist and a CPCAB Level 5 Children’s Counsellor having trained with the national children’s charity, Place2be. I was formerly a senior clinical  practitioner  based at a South London NHS Trust with responsibility for delivering specialist acute in-patient and outpatient therapeutic services. I have also been responsible for the management and coordination of community-based therapeutic and counselling services within mental health and substance misuse sectors. I worked within organisations for the homeless and in outreach work with vulnerable and hard to reach groups.  I collaborated on social and clinical research studies prior to joining the Young People’s and Quality in Alcohol and Drug Services Consultancy team at the national charity, Drugscope. I established myself in private practice as a art therapist and psychotherapist in 2016.
